What plants can I use outdoors in full shade?

Ajuga Reptans, Asarum hartwegii, Aucuba japonica, brunnera macrophylla, Fatsia japonica, Lamium, Hosta and Hakonechloa are all recommended for deep shade; ferns should do well too. There are very few plants will flourish in dry shade so you will need to watch out that the overhang over the porch does not prevent rain reaching your plantings. Good luck :-)
