Can you use the Wii SD card to save actual Virtual Console games and not just the saved games?

I know the SD cards for Wii can save saved games for systems like N64 and Super Nintendo but can you actual transfer the whole game so that I can delete it off my hard drive and then reload it back up any time I want. The VC games take up a lot of space so I figured this is how you save them
