Will I lose Mcafee if i do a system reformat?

I just got my laptop yesterday, I bought Mcafee to be installed as well. my computer is having some problems so after trying other things the techs told me i should do a system reformat. Will i lose Mcafee if i do this? Is Mcafee of my recovery disk? BTW my computer only works in safe mode right now, i tried to backup files however it says its unable to in safe mode
